About the Shih Tzu

Shih Tzus are friendly, outgoing toy dogs, typically 9–16 lbs, bred for centuries as companions. Their long double coat sheds very little but needs regular brushing and grooming, and their sweet, adaptable nature suits apartments, families and older owners alike. As a short-muzzled breed they also need protection from heat on hot summer days.
